About the Women Wing
The EAGF Women Wing is the official women's arm of the Eastern Africa Greens Federation, dedicated to advancing gender equality, women's political participation, and leadership development across the region.
Established to ensure that women's voices and perspectives are central to the green movement, the Women Wing works with member parties in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Somalia to promote women's representation in political structures and decision-making processes.
The Women Wing was formally constituted during the EAGF Congress in Kigali, with an elected Women Network Committee that coordinates activities across the federation, including capacity building, advocacy, and solidarity initiatives.
Our Mission
To strengthen women's political participation and leadership within Green parties across Eastern Africa, ensuring that gender equality is embedded in all policies and practices of the federation.
The Women Wing provides a platform for women to share experiences, develop skills, and advocate for policies that address the unique challenges facing women in the region, including climate justice, economic empowerment, and political representation.
